Vacations and Sick Leave
Vacation Policy
We provide 28 vacation days per year:
- 20 days mandated by Armenian law
- 8 additional days provided by the company
Employees may take vacation at their discretion. Any number of days can be taken at any time, including single days to extend weekends. Vacation pay is made either once a year or at the time the employee goes on vacation, according to the agreement.
Deduction Order
When vacation days are taken, they are deducted in the following order:
- First from the official 20 days
- Then from the 8 additional company-provided days
Carryover Rules
The 8 extra company days cannot be carried over to the following calendar year.
Only unused official vacation days (from the 20) may be carried over.
Example:
- If an employee uses all 20 official days in a calendar year, the 8 extra company days cannot be transferred to the next year.
- If an employee has 10 unused days at the end of the year, and 8 of these are the company's extra days, then only 2 official unused days can be carried over to the next year.
To take vacation, follow these steps:
If it's a day-off::
Coordinate with the team the day when you will be absent (preferably a week before the desired date). The team will decide if you can take the day off or not. Write to office manager about your day off, so they can deduct it from your vacation days.
If it's a vacation::
Coordinate with the team the day when you will be absent (coordination deadlines should be two weeks before the vacation date). The team will decide if you can take the vacation or not. Write to office manager about your vacation, so they can deduct it from your vacation days.
